Five members of Rebels OMCG arrested – SCC Gangs Squad

Five members of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang were arrested yesterday (Monday 12 May 2014) as part of an ongoing investigation by the State Crime Command’s Gangs Squad.

 

Strike Force Gault is a Gangs Squad investigation into a number of criminal activities allegedly undertaken by members of the Rebels Liverpool chapter, including their alleged involvement in a brawl with members of the Lone Wolf outlaw motorcycle gang in Burwood last month (Wednesday 23 April 2014).

 

Last Friday (9 May 2014) officers attached to Strike Force Gault – with the assistance of specialist police – executed 12 search warrants and three Firearms Prohibition Order searches at a range of properties throughout Sydney.

 

At one of the properties – in Rossmore – officers located a hydroponic cannabis set-up containing close to 50 mature cannabis plants.

 

The Warwick Farm clubhouse of the Rebels Liverpool chapter was also dismantled during Friday’s operation.

 

Four people – 21-year-old Rebels nominee from Cecil Hills, a 32-year-old Lone Wolf member from Monterey, a 22-year-old Rhodes woman with links to the Rebels and a 33-year-old Rebels member from Camperdown – were charged with a variety of offences on Friday.

 

Yesterday, five members of the Rebels – four of them from the Liverpool chapter – were arrested and charged.

 

The 27-year-old Sergeant at Arms of the Rebels Liverpool chapter was charged with two counts of affray and one count of fraud totalling $650,000. He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Tuesday 13 May 2014).

 

The 28-year-old President of the Rebels Liverpool chapter was charged with numerous licensing offences and was granted bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on 18 June 2014.

 

A 22-year-old member of the Rebels Liverpool chapter was charged with two counts of affray and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.

 

A 23-year-old member of the Rebels Liverpool chapter was charged with one count of affray and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.

 

A 35-year-old member of the Rebels McArthur chapter was charged with one count of fraud totalling $650,000. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on 2 June 2014.

 

The investigation by Strike Force Gault is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
